What SA customers do online when they need a fibre agent
Figures from Stats SA on how many South African homes have fixed internet, and from Google Trends on how South Africans search for fibre and where.
Swipe for more charts.
Most homes still have no fixed internet
In 2024, just 17.4% of South African households had fixed internet at home, while 75.6% could get online on mobile devices. Stats SA says fixed connections stayed fairly flat from 2010 to 2021, then rose steadily. Only 2.7% of rural households had internet at home. Every one of those homes is someone a fibre agent can sign up.

Write “fibre deals” and the network’s name
In 2025, South Africans searched “fibre deals” (66) and “vuma fibre” (61) far more than “fibre in my area” (15), “fibre installation” (2) or “prepaid fibre” (1). These are Google’s yearly averages for one comparison. Put the network you sell and the word “deals” or your prices in your page, next to your area.
Prepaid fibre searches are growing fast
Google searches for “prepaid fibre” in South Africa averaged 54.9 in 2025, more than double 2024 (23.8), and November 2025 was the highest month from 2019 to 2025 (our arithmetic). The numbers are still small next to “fibre deals”, but the trend is clear. If you sell prepaid fibre, say “prepaid” and “no contract” at the top of your page.
Gauteng searches most for fibre deals
From 2019 to 2025, Gauteng searched most for “fibre deals”, ahead of the Western Cape (86), KwaZulu-Natal (84) and the Eastern Cape (72). Searches were highest in January (57.0 on average) and lowest in December (41.3) (our arithmetic). Name the suburbs and townships you cover, so people nearby find you.
